- How to apply
- DS-160 online form, visa fee payment, then an in-person interview at the U.S. Embassy in Accra.
- Timing
- Interview wait times change often, so check the current wait for Accra before you plan. Apply as early as you can.
How the process works
- Complete the DS-160 online. Answer accurately; the consular officer will have it in front of them.
- Pay the visa fee and schedule your interview at the U.S. Embassy in Accra.
- Prepare for the interview. Officers mainly assess the purpose of your trip, your ability to pay for it and your ties to home.
- Attend the interview with your passport, confirmations and supporting documents.
- Receive your passport with the visa if approved.
Visa validity and the number of entries granted to Ghanaian applicants have changed more than once recently. Check the embassy’s current guidance before you apply.
